Two worlds collide, rival nations.
STONESTAR
It's a primitive clash, venting years of frustrations.
STONESTAR
It's a primitive clash, venting years of frustrations.
Bravely we hope against all hope.
Name: {Stonestar}
Age: 26 Moons
Clan: Sunclan
Rank: Leader
Gender: Tom/Male
Appearance: Stonestar is a solid gray tom. His fur has no pattern, no marking, except for a white, rough looking star shape in the middle of his chest. His legs are long and powerful and, through the medium-length fur, you can see every muscle work as he moves. His head and chest are broad, so his shoulders are wide. He often uses his head and shoulders in battles, weaving it under a cat and and then pushing up to flip his opponent onto their back so he can do a vicious and merciless belly rake attack. And is the farthest thing from small. Stonestar is probably, probably not, the biggest leader Sunclan has ever known. His size is daunting and more often than not sends apprentices fleeing from him in battle. His pelt is designed with scars, some visible, some hidden, with scars from battle. He isn't a cat you want to fight against for anything. He. Will. Shred you.
There is so much at stake.

Personality: Unfazable. That is a good word for Stonestar. Nothing fazes him. Not dogs, not two legs, not monsters. He will take them all on if he had to, but would prefer to stay out of their way. But he isn't a coward, he is just smart. He never starts a fight he knows he can't win. He will negotiate and if his offer is turned down, he will either leave it alone or start a fight, depending on what the deal is about. If it is about Sunclan kits, he will take on an entire clan by himself. If it was over prey, he will let it go. He knows how to pick his fights and he knows how to fight them. However, he knows when he is beaten. Stonestar is also undeniably loyal. He would take on the entire world if his clan needed it and he would die before he let anyone destroy his home and friends.
Seems our freedom's up against the ropes.

Skills:
Hunting: Stonestar is a remarkable hunter. It is rumored that he once caught a pheasant on his own. He neither denies it nor says it is true. But it probably is because of a large scar on his chest.
Fighting: Stonestar is an exceptional fighter. His size doesn't slow him down and he can weave like a snake through the battle field to get to his target. His claws are like razors, slicing flesh like leaves. But more than often, he will move his paw swipes to fast and wretch a shoulder or tear a claw out. But over the moons, he has worked out so he can block the pain a little so he can still fight.
Limitations:
Size: Stonestar isn't a small cat. He is large and bulky. There are a lot of places in the forest that he can't fit into. He even has trouble sometimes getting through the camp's entrance! Imagine how funny that would look to see your leader pushing his legs back with his head and shoulders poking out of the tunnel, then picture him getting out and shooting forward and flipping onto his back. That is an every-other-day thing for Stonestar.
Clumsy: As stated before, Stonestar is a large cat. With size comes clumsiness. His paws look a size too big for his legs and so he will sometimes trip over his own paws. It isn't his fault, it is just the way is.

History:
Stonekit was born in a badger set in the dead of winter. His mother was already half dead when she went into labor, and the kitting finished her off. He was born in a blizzard with his brother and sister. Starclan blessed them and gave them life until morning. The blizzard had stopped and Stonekit and his siblings were near death. Their wails for food were growing weaker and they were hanging by a thread when a nearby patrol heard them and came to the rescue. The patrol consisted on the former Sunclan leader, Sunstar, his deputy, Lionpelt, Crookedleg, and Featherfur. Frostfeather's midnight black pelt was poking out of the snow behind Stonekit and his siblings. The patrol cleared the snow off her body and knew she was dead. They took the kits back to camp and rushed them into the nursery where it was dark and warm. Ivyclaw, a nursing queen who had recently lost two of her three kits, eagerly took Stonekit and his siblings under her wing and cared for them.
Not long after they arrived did their father, Redfoot, burst into the nursery. Ivyclaw tried to warn him off with a threatening hiss, but he just snarled back, demanding to see his kits. They got into a heated argument before Sunstar, quite literally, pulled Redfoot out by his tail. He told the worried warrior that his kits needed rest and time to build up their energy. Fourteen sunrises passed before Redfoot was allowed into the nursery. He always brought back the fattest freshkill available and dropped it outside the nursery, mewing for Ivyclaw that her meal was here. He fed her six times a day to ensure her milk didn't run out so Stonekit and his siblings would have plenty to live off of. Soon, new-leaf came and the anxious Stonekit burst out of the nursery for the very first time.
He didn't flinch at the brightness of the sun. He let it warm his bones before storming the camp, exploring every den with his charges, consisting of Ivyclaw's kits Mosskit and Ashkit, plus his sister and brother. They always got into trouble and one time, Stonekit even managed to get into Sunstar's den one night. He had crept into Sunstar's den at moonhigh. He saw the sleeping form of Sunstar. Even in the near-black den, Stonekit could see Sunstar's flame-orange pelt with its dark ginger stripes. He felt the urge to run and hide behind Ivyclaw, but heard whispers behind him outside the den.
"Go on, Stonekit! You can do it!" said Honeykit, his sister. "Yeah! Don't be a mouse!" Sneered Ashkit, Ivyclaw's son. He never liked Stonekit, and to this day Stonestar still doesn't know why.
Stonekit gulped and crept over to Sunstar, right up to the rim of the leader's nest. His fur blew back with Sunstar's exhale through his nose. He climbed into the nest and curled into the tom's soft belly. Sunstar started, his head jerking up, ears forward and his amber eyes scanning for the cause of his waking. He felt a shiver by his belly and looked down to see Stonekit. "Stonekit!" Sunstar chuckled. "Why are you in here?" He asked the kit gently. "I-I..." He stopped talking to gather his lie. "Yes?" Sunstar persisted. "I... I had a bad dream." Stonekit's eyes flashed with fear. "I had a dream that this huge brown thing broke into camp. It had a large jaw with the biggest teeth I've been seen! It made a howl or something. It was so loud! And I dreamed that it came after me and it grabbed it. That's when I woke up!" Stonekit mewed. "I thought that if I came in here, you could protect me in case something like that really did happen." Stonekit whimpered.
Sunstar looked down at Stonekit tenderly. "You dreamed of a dog. And they can be pretty nasty. But don't worry, young one. I'll always protect you." He purred and licked between Stonekit's ears. Snickering sounded from outside and Sunstar shook his head with a soft chuckle. He looked outside his den. "And I suppose you four had the same dream?" He asked, his voice raised just loud enough for the kits outside to hear. The snickering stopped immediately and hushed "Hurry!"s and "Run!" sounded as the kits scampered away. Sunstar curled himself around Stonekit. "Good night, my friend." He whispered. "Good night, Sunstar." Stonekit whispered back and fell asleep.
In the morning, Sunstar carefully deposited Stonekit back inside the nursery just before dawn without waking him. Stonekit was pummeled as the other kits woke him up a few moments after Sunstar left. He was attacked with a flurry of questions, but Ivyclaw hushed them and let Stonekit go back to sleep. Moons passed and he became an apprentice. Sunstar appointed Stonepaw his mentor. Sunstar himself was to teach Stonepaw. He learned quickly and became a warrior a moon sooner than the other apprentices. Of course, this only fueled Ashpaw's hatred for Stonefur. He got his own apprentice at fifteen moons and the apprentice was named Fernpelt. A few days later, Lionpelt was killed in battle and Stonefur became deputy.
Five moons later, Sunstar lost his eighth life to greencough. Green-leaf came and the leader gave his last life fighting off a fox that had carried away a kit one morning. The kit died that night. Only when the kit died did Stonefur leave to the Moonpool to get his nine lives. He came back to camp as Stonestar, exhausted and depressed at losing Sunstar.
Roleplay sample:
It was Green-leaf at full bloom and the forest was alive with bird songs and chittering squirrels. The sun was at it's peak in the sky and its warm rays bathed the forest floor, streaming through the canopy in columns of luminous golden light. A lone cat walked calmly through the forest, tail up and ears forward. His amber eyes scanned the forest with love and appreciation. This was his home, his land. All his. He fought for it every day, guarding his borders and protecting his future. The kits in the nursery. His name was Stonestar and he was a cat worthy of being leader. His pelt was criss-crossed with scars, not all visible. Maybe one or two able to be seen. As he padded along his thoughts drifted to Sunstar, his former leader and mentor. He remembered that night long ago when he was only a kit. The other kits in the nursery talked Stonestar, Stonekit then, to sneak into Sunstar's den and sleep with the leader in his nest. Of course, he succeeded through lying. But it was when Stonekit was named Stonefur after being an apprentice did Sunstar tell Stonefur that he knew he was lying that night.
Stonefur had been so embarrassed, but Sunstar told him to not worry about it. He sighed contently. He could almost see Sunstar sitting in front of his favorite tree. A large, strong, healthy oak tree. The only one in the forest was right in front of Stonestar and, as he peered closer, he realized that he could see Sunstar! He rushed forward with a purr fit for a warrior of Lionclan. "Stonestar. Do not rejoice. Darkness is upon us." Before Stonestar could ask what Sunstar meant, a rustling behind Stonestar caught the leader's attention. It was the oldest elder in clan history. Stonestar turned to look at Sunstar, but the ginger tom had disappeared. Stonestar whipped around to face Crookedleg as the elder hobbled awkwardly over to Stonestar as fast as he could. "Crookedleg! What are you doing all the way out here?" Stonestar asked. "The camp... Dog... One dead..." Crookedleg wheezed. "Couldn't find you... left to find help..." Crookedleg coughed for a few heartbeats, struggling to get breath. "There's no time to lose!" Stonestar hissed and grabbed Crookedleg's scruff, swinging him onto Stonestar's strong back.
"Hold on tight." He ordered. Stonestar winced at Crookedleg's claws poking his skin, but didn't hesitate.
He pelted through the forest toward camp, his legs burning from the extra weight of Crookedleg on his back. But finally he could hear the yowls and screeches of fighting cats and the thunderous bark of a dog. Stonestar's blood froze. He remembered that lie all those years ago, and could hear Sunstar's promise in his ears. "I'll always protect you..." Crookedleg slid off of Stonestar's back and without waiting, the leader rushed into camp. He didn't stop, just threw himself at the dog as it tore at the nursery. He pelted across camp and launched himself over the dog and twisted in midair, landing on the ground in front of the dog, fur spiked and amber eyes flaring dangerously. The dog skidded to a stop, surprised at the sudden appearance of such a large feline. It's nose was shoved in Stonestar's face and he bit down hard on the canine's soft nose. It yelped with pain and threw it's head, but Stonestar held on with his teeth and claws, guarding the mouth of the beast so it couldn't bite his clan mates. Besides, it would be too distracted by Stonestar clinging to its muzzle to focus on the other cats.
The dog yelped and howled with pain as Stonestar forced his claws deeper into the dog. It howled with agony and rushed for the side of the camp. Stonestar dropped to the ground, landing on his feet, as the dog leaped the barrier and fled. "And stay out!" Stonestar yowled threateningly. He turned to look at the camp, but hissed with a sudden pain in his right front paw. He looked down to see blood gushing out of his paw. He snorted with annoyance a moment before the pain registered. He suppressed a yowl of agony and licked his paw rapidly. Stonestar's warriors huddled around him, praising him for saving them all. The medicine cat shoved cats aside as he went to help Stonestar. He wrapped his paw in a tight leaf and gave him poppy seeds for the pain, but Stonestar refused. The medicine cat demanded that Stonestar eat them, so he did. He lapped up two seeds as Sunstar appeared among the cats. "Fought like a true warrior..." Sunstar faded away, his scent lingering for a moment longer, before disappearing. Stonestar looked around and asked what the damage was. Ivyclaw stumbled forward, a mangled body between her teeth. She lowered a dead kit to Stonestar's paws. He gasped, his heart clenching with pain. "My son!" Stonestar breathed.
He looked down at the black and white body of his son, Swiftkit. It was his only kit, his mate Dawnheart, died of greencough in leaf-bare. Swiftkit was six moons old, his apprentice ceremony was to be that night. Stonestar picked up his son's shredded body and retreated to his den. He didn't come out for three days...
